Most of the time, when you list your goals and start to talk to people about them, is that you will come across a dream-stealer.
Everyone is surrounded by people who feel that your dreams are unrealistic. Whenever I come across a ‘dream-stealer’ I tell them to be positive. The response is often ‘I’m being realistic’.
We can never be short of people who want to knock our confidence out the window. Sometimes they are just jealous that you want to achieve more than they do. Or, it could be that their motives come from a better place and they don’t want to see you fail. The truth is whether or not they mean well you start to doubt yourself and your abilities. The challenge is to not listen to them, be understanding and respectful but then push on towards achieving your goals.
’ Remember, the key to your future success is going to be embracing the very same things those dream-stealers are warning you about: the failure, the heartache and the tears’.
These are key stepping stones to success and are actually markers that you are doing something right.
PS. Some of these motivational blog posts are inspired by the book ‘A survival guide for life’ by Bear Grylls. I do not take credit for coming up with these truly motivating words. I’m just using them as inspiration and adding my own twist.
